Charity Competition (Competition Closed)

I have a competition running at the moment over on my Facebook page. There will be two winners, each winning a 100ml bottle of juice from my own personal stash. The first winner will be able to choose the flavour they would like the second winner gets the other 100ml bottle. To be in with a chance of winning a 100ml bottle of Hodges Home Brew head over to my Facebook page and follow the instructions. The charity that will be receiving the money raised is Meningitis Now. They get no government funding and could really use some extra money. So if you fancy a chance of winning some juice and want to help out a worthy charity enter the competition over on my Facebook Page.

This competition is now closed and the winners have been picked, notified and have received their prizes. The video of the draw is on my Facebook page.

Jimmy The Juice Man's Creme Brulee

I was contacted by David from Vape Club and was asked if I would like to have some juice from their fairly extensive menu to try out for review. Of course I said yes please and here we are, with the first of the four bottles I was sent. It's a name I'm sure pretty much anyone who has an Internet connection and vapes will of heard about. It's Jimmy The Juice Man and I have before me a bottle of Creme Brulee

Let's get down to what I think about this particular flavour, I started off with a tank full in a SQuape R with a nickel build on a DNA40 device. I sat there having a vape and do you know what? I just hated it. It's supposed to be Creme Brulee,  why can I only taste banana? Not nice banana at that if I'm honest. It didn't get any better with different temperature or wattage settings. In the interest of fairness and my thoughts that , so many people rave about this stuff, it can't be that bad. I tried a different angle, I put a kanthal build in a Kayfun V4, on a Phenom and gave that a blast. It was slightly more appealing but I still wasn't sold on this juice at all. My next move was to try it in a dripper, so a fresh build was put in the Derringer and I gave that a go, it was starting to get better.  I was actually beginning to
get some of the other flavours starting to show through now, I could now detect a bit of burnt sugar, a bit of the creamy goodness too. There still for me though, wasn't that wow about it. So along the same line of thought as before, I decided that if using a dripper helped. Would it get better if that dripper got smaller? Out came my Squonker with a tiny little No Fear atomiser on top, still using kanthal and some new Japanese cotton.  I filled the little squonk bottle and tried again.
Now I wasn't expecting much improvement but I've got to
say I'm liking this juice more and more each time I have a squonk. On the inhale I now get that creamy custard flavour come through so much better, with the accompanying banana which now doesn't overpower as it did before. Then on the exhale that creamy custard flavour starts to give way to  nice little hint of burnt sugar. What I didn't expect when I first tried this juice was the banana. Whenever I've been out at a restaurant and have chosen Creme Brulee as a dessert, it's never had banana in it. So I looked up the recipe and I was a little surprised to find how many variants of Creme Brulee there actually are. Typically you get Custard, flavoured with Vanilla, topped with caramalised or burnt sugar. Due to the sweetness of the dish you would normally only have a small serving.

Your most common recipe is this:-

Crème brûlée (/ˌkrɛm brˈl/French pronunciation: [kʁɛm bʁy.le]),[1] also known asburnt creamcrema catalana, or Trinity cream[2]is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a contrasting layer of hardcaramel. It is normally served at room temperature. The custard base is traditionally flavored with vanilla, but can also be flavored with a variety of other flavorings. (This is from Wikipedia)

This is the recipe I'm most used to, so I think I would like this flavour more if they dropped the banana and stuck with the vanilla as the main flavouring for the custard base.

Saying that though, the more I vape this with my squonking setup the more it's growing on me. I have tried it in a tank again and I still hate it, so for me it'll be a juice I use exclusively in a very tiny 14mm bottom fed dripper. The question is, when this bottle has gone will I be wanting any more of it? Yes I think I will, I'm sure it's only going to get better as it steeps. Who knows, in a few more weeks once it's matured some more I may even acquire a taste for this juice in a tan, if I do I'll let you know. This juice is available in 0,6,12 and 18mg strengths, it's a 50/50 PG/VG blend and will cost you £15.99 for 30ml. You get your usual child proof cap with dripping pipette and a nicely presented bottle, I have to say I really do like the brand logo quite a lot. Vape Club offer next day delivery if you order before 16:20 hrs and if your order exceeds £20 the postage is free, yes you read that right I did say free. To be fair with the selection Vape Club have on offer, spending £20 is going to be so easy. They have juice from all the big names, I'm sure you'll be spoilt for choice. I urge you to have a look on their page which is www.vape club.co.uk, I was personally amazed and really happy that a UK company has such a wide selection of premium juice available. American liquids are great, but it's the shipping costs and the weeks wait, even longer if customs want to check it over that just makes it really expensive and has always put me off In the past.  I did get this juice free for review,  but I will definitely be keeping Vape Club in my browser bookmarks and will, most certainly be visiting to make a purchase in the future.

***Update***

I have continued with my search to get the best from this particular liquid and have found,
that for me it works best with a Stainless Steel mesh wick. Using the same 14mm atomiser I switched the configuration to allow a central mesh wick, then using some 0.2mm Kanthal I was able to wrap a 1.1 ohm coil and Squonk away. The Mesh wick is quite highly regarded as one of the best, if not the best wicking material to provide the best flavour possible. In this case and with this particular juice, I have found it to be completely accurate. The thing to bear in mind with a Mesh wick build is that it needs to be properly oxidised before use and just as importantly,  it wicks very well but will not absorb liquid like cotton or silica etc. wick will. That is why you will see cotton in the bottom of the atomiser. It's there solely to catch excess fluid. This will stop excess fluid congregating at the air hole of the atomiser which will cause it to gurgle. If you have a central wick compatible atomiser I strongly advise you give it a try, it works really well. There are video tutorials about on YouTube should you want or need some help.

Digbys Mum's Custard

I spend a fair bit of time on varying Facebook pages, and there is a constantly asked question. To be honest, for a good long while every time I saw this question asked I wondered why anyone would want to know the answer. The question always seems to be "what's the best custard?". I know there are countless different flavours and variations of ratio's etc but custard? Anyway the more I saw this question asked the more it got me thinking, if so many people are asking about custard flavour liquids then they must be good, but is there a best custard flavour?
Theres only one way to find out, so I got some from from one of the most mentioned brands and gave it a go. The one I went for was Mum's Custard from Digbys. I got a 50/50 blend in 11mg strength. With a name like Mum's Custard, who wouldnt want to try it? It brings to mind family dinners and Mum's cooking. The question is though, is it any good? Well I'm going to go out on a limb and say I was suitably impresssd, I really didn't expect to like a custard liquid at all. I don't like to eat cold custard and would only usually eat it hot, poured over my dessert. Right let me tell you about this liquid, it arrived really quickly and came well packaged. On it's arrival I had a whiff of the bottle and it was pretty damn good. A lot of custard liquids come with advice from the vendor to let you know about steeping the liquid in order to get the best flavour from it. This varies between days and weeks and you'll notice the colour of the liquid darken as it does. Its normal and is supposed to happen so don't worry if you get a custard and it's light in colour and after a few weeks it's really dark. This custard is different in that it is batch steeped for four weeks before bottling, this means that when you get it and take that first whiff you wont have to put it away, you'll be able to get that sweet smelling liquid straight in your preferred atomiser and have a vape. This for me was great as I really didn't want to wait to try this liquid out, so in my squonker it went with a single 1.3 ohm coil and I vaped away. This liquid is fantastic, you instantly get the vanilla followed by a smooth milky sweet custard thats really hard to put down. I absolutly love this stuff, the 30ml I had tasted great from start to finish. I can really see why so many people rave about custard liquids. It's just a shame I didn't go for a much bigger bottle, in the blink of an eye it was gone. I need to get more of this, I would urge any of you reading this to give it a try if you haven't already. Seriously payday can not come soon enough.
Is this the best custard out there? Well it's a little to early for me to say, but I can say this, it's going to take some beating. I think I'm going to enjoy finding out which of the custards out there rates for me as being the best, I'll let you know what I think after I've tried some others.
There are two variants of this liquid, you have a 50/50 blend available in 6, 11 and 18mg strengths with the choice of 10, 30, 50 and 100ml bottles (you can choose glass or plastic bottles). If however 50/50 blends aren't your thing and you prefer a vg heavy option then they have you covered, they have a second version in an 80/20 blend available in 6 and 11mg strength with the choice of 10, 30 and 50ml bottles (again with the option of glass and plastic bottles). This flavour will cost you between £4.99 and £46.99 depending on your bottle type and amount of liquid you choose, I can see a 100ml bottle being ordered in the very near future. It's pricey if you compare this liquid to the plethora of other liquid brands out there but you know what, after trying this liquid I get why it's the price it is and for me it's well worth it. You can pick this liquid up in some shops too, there's a list of authorised sellers on the site here

TMAX JUICES - Dr. Stanley Clark's Snake Oil

I'm sure there are very few people unfamiliar with this liquid, I've been seeing people post pictures of this stuff in hand checks and vapemail pictures for a long, long time. There was always something about this liquid, that made me not want to try it. Perhaps because it was so popular and frequently mentioned I assumed it was like the dreaded Red Astaire, which for me was a try once and never again liquid ( I know it will perhaps seem strange to many of you. Red Astaire has a lot of fans, but it's just not for me.). However unlike Red Astaire I've very rarely seen or heard people say they've not liked it. After speaking to a few people about it I decided to speak to the man who makes it.
So long story short, I got some and gave it a try, I have to say that the service was fantastic. It arrived really quickly, properly packaged and nicely presented with a little snake shaped sweet.
Snake Oil used to be sold as a supposed cure all and fraudulent medicinal remedy to people in the 19th Century, some believe it was a misinterpretation of a Chinese remedy, that was taken from the Chinese water snake which was used to treat joint pain. This Snake Oil offers no such promises, it does promise to taste good straight away and taste better as it gets older though. This liquid will come to you batch steeped, this means the whole batch will have been steeped for ten days before it was bottled. The only question is, does it taste good? The answer to that, in my case was yes it really does.
Once this liquid arrived I left it a few days as I had other stuff to test, I did my usual undo the cap and have a smell though. That first smell revealed a very fruity note not to dissimilar to the little snake sweet that came with it. I'm not going to lie it did smell good, it was a little difficult to put the cap back on and put it on the side. After a few days though when the other liquids had been tested it was time to get the Snake oil out and have a vape. It was also an ideal opportunity to try a new dripper too. So with a freshly coiled and wicked dripper I set about my first real taste of Snake Oil, it's good. I really quite like this stuff, it reminded me of these sweets called Grays Herbal Tablets.
Now im not saying for certain that they taste exactly like them, but for me, they definitely reminded me of them. Perhaps im wrong, im not sure. Its been a long time since i had those sweets, id be interested to know if any of you reading this agree or disagree. Anyway I got through a few mililitres and with a concerted effort, put the bottle away and left it a while longer. I came back to it recently and this liquid just gets better, its really quite strange because I found it quite difficult to pick out exact flavours. Its fruity, there's some anise in there, not so much that it overpowers it, it's  enough to add to the overall flavour but not so much that it stomps all over the other flavours that make up the liquid. Then there's the sneakily subtle hint of cooling menthol that creeps up on you, again though it's enough to just blend in seamlessly, it doesn't do anything other than again compliment the overall experience.  This liquids flavours just work so well together, I can really see why people love and talk about it. It's also pretty handy that they sell this in big bottles. Something else that was really quite nice was the amount of vapour you can get from this. A lot of liquid makers are focusing on heavy vg recipes for cloud chasing. This liquid is 60/40 pg/vg but you can still get your clouds with the right build if that's your thing. This liquid has been in my regular rotation for a little while now and can honestly say I think it'll stay in rotation aswell, I'm really enjoying this liquid. The flavour is great, it smells really good and I'll definitely be getting more when I run low. If like me you've seen pictures of this stuff, or heard it mentioned and weren't sure if you'd like it. Give it a go is all I'd say, I'm so glad i did I'd recommend everyone try this at least once. As with all liquids the whole love it or hate it thing is going to be down to your own personal tastes, but I think it'd be a shame if you spent your time vaping without giving this a try. You can find it here, it comes in 0,6,12,18 and 24mg nicotine strengths and as a nice little touch, you can buy it in the amber glass bottles or you can buy it in refill packs, the available sizes are 30, 50, 80 and 100ml. You'll be looking at £13 for a 30ml bottle, then when you've vaped your way through that first bottle. You can pick up a 50ml refill bottle for £19, now it's not the cheapest liquid you can get by any means. But to be fair, for what your getting when you purchase I don't think it's a bad price at all, especially as I'm sure a lot of you myself included, have purchased liquids in this price bracket based on hype or recommendations and not liked it. Which means you have some of your hard earned sat in liquid form in a posh bottle gathering dust, or you've given it away or thrown it out. So if you look at it that way, id much rather pay out for liquid that's not going to sit there and will be used completely and then reordered, again and again. Ultimately you pays your money, you make your choice. Do I think it's worth its money? Well I can honestly say I'll be more than happy to purchase a refill when the time arrives.

If your really not sure enough to go straight to buying a 30ml bottle, you live in the UK and you've never tried this liquid before. If you speak to the man behind Tmax Juices and ask him very nicely, he may just send you a 10ml trial bottle for the cost of the bottle, fees and postage. At the time of writing this, that cost will be £1.75 (this is subject to change should the need arise), so if you'd like to speak to Simon Wilson from Tmax Juice and sort yourself out a sample to try, you can contact him here. Any samples requested will be sent out on the next available batch, so get yourselves over to Tmax Juices and give this liquid a try, I'm fairly sure once you've tried it, you will want more.

Mrs Lord & Co - Part Two

Right I have now finally given the two remain liquids a go and my thoughts on them are a bit further down. Just to recap a little, these liquids have come From Mrs Lord & Co.  They came through really, really quickly. Very well packaged and came with proper screw caps and with a little dripper pipette for each bottle. They all smelled great on that first smell when changing over the cap for the dripper. Anyway enough rambling and on with the last two flavours.

Custard Cream

To start with, I am a little partial to the odd biscuit when I sit down with a cup of tea. So with that in mind, as this smelled really good exactly like the biscuit of the same name in fact, I was quick to fill the tank and stick the kettle on.
This liquid did not disappoint, it was just as good as I had hoped it would be. I sat down with a freshly brewed cup of tea and set about having a vape. This liquid is now one of my favourites, I've found since I first tried this in my Kraken I haven't really used many of my other liquids at all. I just keep vaping away and when the tank runs dry, I reach for this liquid, fill the tank again and keep vaping. The 15ml bottle I have is running down very quickly. I am really going to have to place an order for a bigger bottle before this one runs out. Luckily they have 50ml bottles available for £23 each plus postage so that should last a lititle longer. I've only just recently tried this in a Big Dripper at around 0.8 ohm's just to see if how it'd fair compared to a genesis tank with steel rope and mesh with a 1.3 ohm coil. I was pleasantly surprised, some liquids taste great in a tank and suffer a little in a dripper. This one has no issues as far as I'm concerned, the only difference is a bigger cloud. The flavours come through really well in either setup. My advice to anyone who intends to give Mrs Lord & Co a go, is put some of this in your basket, you won't be disappointed.

Toffee Apple

This liquid is another that smelled so good when I first took the cap off, that I was straight away looking forward to seeing if it tasted as good as it smelled.
When I had finished my last tank of custard cream, the Kraken was washed, pulsed and prepped ready for a new flavour. I filled the tank and gave this Toffee Apple a try expecting great things, unfortunately the great things didn't happen. It smelled like Toffee Apple,  it sort of tasted like Toffee Apple.  But I found that for me it only slightly resembled the flavour, I thought it really quite a perfumed taste that wasn't what I had hoped. The after taste wasn't too pleasant either and I found it left a strange odour behind on the atomiser when I took it apart to clean it out. It was really disappointing,  I really hoped this was going to be a great liquid. This is most definitely not going to find its way into my basket again on my next order with Mrs Lord & Co.

Out of the five liquids I got from Mrs Lord & Co,  the only one I really didn't like was the Toffee Apple, however considering I have found a new favourite liquid in the Custard Cream and a close second in the Victoria Sandwich I'm really quite pleased. The Seville Marmalade was great as a morning vape, the Spotted Dick was good but I still think it'd be better as Spotted Dick and Custard. So overall I would definitely recommend you go to Mrs Lord & Co and give their liquids a go. They have also recently announced that they have a new Mechanical Mod on its way, whigh I have to say looks pretty good from the pictures I've seen so far. Not sure about its price, but if it's reasonable I think it'd make a good addition to my collection. See what you think in the picture below.

Mrs Lord & Co - Part One

I have here some of Mrs Lords finest liquids, to be fair I've heard so much about this stuff. But being me I didn't want to just follow the herd and get some. I've never been a follower, however an opportunity arose to give some of these liquids a try. Having resisted for a long time, I figured why not. Who knows it may actually be as good as people say it is. I picked five that most appealed and waited for Pat to deliver them. They came very quickly, very well packaged and in perfect condition. All that was left to do was give them a try, so the tank was cleaned and I tried the first three. Here's what I thought......

Seville Marmalade

To be honest as much as I like Marmalade, Orange Marmalade is not usually my first choice, I prefer the Lime variant. I decided to give it a go anyway,
I'm glad I did. It's pretty good, if you're familiar with Seville Orange Marmalade then you will instantly recognise that quite bitter, tangy Orange flavour right from the very first vape. According to the website this recipe is the result of twenty previous attempts at this flavour. I have to say I think Mr Lord has pretty much nailed it. I wonder if he could knock up a Lime version? If he could, or would then I would definitely be in the queue to give it a try. As nice as this is, I wouldn't vape it all day, everyday. For me this is really quite nice in the morning with your first cuppa of the day. It's an ideal breakfast vape. You get the great taste of the Marmalade, without the need to prepare the toast or wash up afterwards. Vapour production with this liquid is very good, it's a 50/50 mix so depending on your build you could very easily get a decent cloud out of this and still get the full taste experience from it. Will I be getting any more of this when it runs out? I think the answer to that is a definite yes, although as I don't use this all day everyday, the 15ml I have will last me a little while.

Victoria Sandwich

I think most of you will be very familiar with the Victoria Sandwich, so the most important question that needs answering in regard to this liquid is,
does it taste like Victoria Sandwich? Well I'm fairly sure you'll have a smile on your face, when you take a whiff of this liquid on first removing the cap. For me, when I took the cap off and had a quick sniff, I was instantly reminded of homemade cakes and couldn't wait to get this in the tank. So in the tank it went and I have to say I really enjoyed vaping this, it's a great liquid. To answer the question, yes it does taste exactly like it should. The Jam, cream and sponge flavours combine brilliantly,  they come through really well and leave a very pleasant after taste that leaves your mouth watering and wanting more. Mrs Beeton herself couldn't have done any better in my opinion. I've used this liquid a fair bit since it arrived and have to say, next time I'm going to have to get the bigger bottle. I really can't see this one lasting to long, I really find it quite hard to put down. I'm quite a fan of dessert flavours and usually find that they don't quite live up to what they're supposed to be, this one however really does. I like it a lot. If your going to place an order with Mrs Lord & Co and like your dessert flavours then I can definitely recommend this one, I'm sure you'll really enjoy it. I know I'll be adding more of this to my basket very soon.

Spotted Dick

This one I'm not too sure about to be honest,  this isn't one of Mr Lord's creations. According to their site it's one of his favourite Chefs Vapour recipe's.
Spotted Dick and Custard is a cracking dessert after a Sunday lunch, it's not one of my absolute favourites but I like it none the less. So it seemed like a good idea to give it a try. In the tank it went and I gave it a vape. You definitely get the rich raisin filled sponge taste come through nice and clearly. However this is why I'm in two minds about it, I've never eaten Spotted Dick and thought, you know what. I won't bother having custard on it, I'll have it without..... I really think this needs to have a custard flavour with it. Yes it tastes like it should and how you would expect it too, but without the custard it's not quite right. It's just one of those liquids that every time I give it a vape I'm always going to end up reminded of the fact it's missing something. Now having said that, I'm sure a lot of you vapers reading this will be more than happy to tinker with this and add your favourite custard to it. When you do and get the mix just right, I'm sure this liquid will be all the better for it. Will I be getting this liquid again? Well if they made a Spotted Dick and Custard, yes I wouldn't mind giving it a go. But as it is, I don't think this is one I would get more of. It just isn't for me at all.

The Mrs Lord & Co website is just here if you would like to pay them a visit, they have thirteen flavours on the menu to choose from. All of their liquids are in a 50/50 ratio, with the choice of 0, 6, 12, 18 and 24mg nicotine strengths. Some great things to note is all their liquids will reach you next day where possible (Royal Mail willing) if you order before 15:30 hrs, there is a flat shipping fee of £3 per order. The best thing though is your chosen flavours will arrive pre steeped. No waiting just fill your tank or prime your dripper and go for it. For those of you on the other side of the water, good news, they'll ship to you if you so choose. With a suggested delivery time of ten days. There are some other items for your consideration too, the also sell coil jigs, filling syringes,  Kayfun custom caps and the popular Japanese Cotton. So if you want some tasty liquid, give them a look. I'm sure you'll be more than happy with your selection. I have two more flavour to try out, once I've finished testing them I'll post my thoughts, the two to come are Custard Cream and Toffee Apple. They smell really, really good. Hopefully they taste as good as they smell.......

Vape Crate Number Two

Well here it is, Vape Crate Number Two.  This is the one after the initial free one for signing up. The question is, is it worth it? As always I'll be completely honest, at first my answer to this was no..... The whole go cardless thing is very long winded, the money will leave your account, then a few weeks later you will get your Vape Crate. Is this Vape Crates fault...... well yes and no, yes because they chose go cardless to handle the payments for them, but no because it's obviously go cardless' policies and systems that drag the whole process out. Right now down to the important bit, the liquid itself. Was it worth the wait? Well that initially was a yes and no answer, so I'll get down to it and you can make your own decisions.

Cosmic Fog's Milk and Honey

This was one of those liquids that, I couldn't stand when I first tried it,  I thought it was absolutely disgusting. It quickly got dumped in my liquid collection and forgotten about. The cotton got dumped and the tank cleaned. That was until I had a new dripper delivered the other day. I cleaned it all up put a build in it, then it was time to give it a try. A look through my liquid collection revealed this Milk and Honey, I thought why not try my new dripper with that?
At least then I wouldn't mind if I had to throw the liquid out. But what happened was completely different, this liquid actually tasted o.k, and what surprised me was, that the more I vaped the better it tasted. For the last few days now I have barely used any other liquid at all. It's really grown on me. So does it taste like Milk and Honey? To me, not exactly, no. It has a light marshmallow type taste with a bit of biscuit thrown in. It leaves a nice aftertaste, vapour production is really good which leads me to believe it likely to be a 50/50 mix. Although even on the Cosmic Fog website it doesn't actually reveal the ratio, so it's only a guess on my part and I may not be completely accurate. My advice to anyone wanting to give this a try, is to give it time. This is definitely one of those liquids that gets better for being left a while.
Would I get this again? Yes I would definitely get some more of this at some point. As far as I know you can get this in 15 and 30ml bottles and yes you can buy this in the UK for around the £8 mark for 15ml. If you don't mind letting it mature a little it's worth a go. It works particularly well in a tank and it's really not bad in a dripper with the right build.

WYZE Cold Trill

This liquid out of the three in this month's vapecrate was my immediate favourite, it's tasty and it vapes really well. You get a good cloud and a nice aftertaste.
I have this in one of my genny hybrids and the flavour comes through so, so well. It's really light, the cheesecake, Graham Cracker ( biscuit type flavour ) works really well and on the exhale you get that subtle creamy strawberry. It tastes exactly like it's description says it will, this is a really good dessert type liquid. I've also tried this in a few different drippers and it works really well in all I've tried it in. The other surprising thing, to me at least was that the writeup says "served chilled" and it is. On the exhale there is definitely the feeling of it being cool almost as if it has been chilled. There really isn't much else to say on this one really, I like it and it tastes as it's described. All that's left is it's a 60/40 VG liqiud, available in 15, 30 and 120ml bottles in a maximum of 18mg nicotine strength. I haven't seen this available in the UK, however it does seem to have made a good impression with a lot of vapers so if it becomes popular enough I'm sure you'll be able to get it sooner or later. When it does become available it's going to be one for the basket, it's not an all day liquid by any means, but it's definitely worth having in the collection.

WYZE Parallax

This liquid I'm really quite indifferent about,
I've got it so I'll probably use it at some point, but in all honesty it's an emergency liquid for me. It'll come out and see the tank if I've not got any of my favourites left. Don't get me wrong it tastes like it's described, the pear flavour is fairly accurate, you definitely get that it's pear. However not being a huge pear fan myself ( I wouldn't choose a pear from the fruit bowl) it's just not a flavour I particularly like. I certainly wouldn't be searching for a bottle of this when I need to stock up my liquid stash. That being said, if you like pears then you may take a vape on this and absolutely love it, in which case go for it I'm sure you won't be disappointed. It's unfortunate really it's not the fault of the liquid it's just not for me. Again this is available in 15, 30 and 120ml bottles in a maximum of 18mg nicotine strength.  I've not seen this available online in the UK either, but who knows if enough people want it, it'll be available at some point.

With all the liquids mentioned above, you may very well find them available on different forums, or Facebook group pages. A lot of people will have received this in their Vape Crate too, so they may be about if you look. I really can't stress how worthwhile the Facebook groups for vapers are, there are hundreds and in some groups thousands of members of varying skill sets and experience that are prepared to answer questions and help you out. My biggest word of advice however, should you choose to join them, is read the rules in the pinned post and if they work for you then enjoy the group. If they don't you will find one that does, there are new groups popping up all the time. Anyway ramble almost over, if your considering joining Vape Crate, give it a go. But be prepared for the fact, that as you are not directly choosing what you get you may end up with one or two you don't like. By the same token it also provides you with the opportunity to try liquids you probably wouldn't of, so give it a go. I did and I don't regret it. How long will I keep the subscription going? Who knows is all I can say, for now it suits me so until it doesn't I'll keep it running. The first box free trial is no more unfortunately, but all is not lost. At the time of writing this, the current offer is you get the first one for £12.99, which is fractionally over half price. Which means you get a minimum of 45ml of liquid for £12.99 which is really very good value.

Empire from Vape Swag

This company is based here in the UK and appeals to me for two reasons, quality liquid and a Star wars theme. Let's be fair here what's not to like, well at first I have to be honest I didn't like the first liquid I tried. I won some Empire, a liquid from Vape Swag a fair while ago. I entered a competition hosted by Vape Swag when they were group sponsor of a Facebook vaping group and won 10ml of whichever liquid I wanted from the menu. I chose Empire, it arrived really quickly and I was really chuffed to win. This was one of the first competitions for vape stuff I'd entered so was really looking forward to this fancy liquid turning up especially as it was free. So I ripped open the packet and put some in the tank and gave it a vape. I really didn't like it at all, there was nothing wrong with it, it tasted exactly like it's description. It just turned out liquids with vanilla and custard weren't for me. So it got put aside and I forgot about it...... till I fancied a change and thought why not give it another go. People's tastes really do change, it's true. Whilst  I was in Scotland some weeks ago I filled my genny up with well steeped Empire and had a vape and it was truly outstanding. Was this down to the fact it had, had time to steep? Was it my taste had changed? Was it the better setup I was using to vape it with? Or was it all of those possibilities?  Who knows. What I do know is when the opportunity presented itself to get more liquid from Vape Swag I jumped at the chance and got more Empire. I really, really love this flavour, to me it's like vaping a strawberry milkshake with an added hint of custard. It's just as good in a tank as it is an a dripper and I can and have very easily spent all day just vaping this one liquid which is quite unusual for me I do like to swap and change.
Vapeswag liquids are really reasonable, 10ml will cost you £5, 30ml £12 and 100ml £35 plus p&p so not mega money. The liquids are available in 0,6,9,12,18 & 24mg nicotine strengths and are 50/50 PG/VG. Flavours on the menu are :-

  • Order 66 (Vanilla, Banana Cream & Custard)
  • Bantha Milk (Blue Raspberry Slush)
  • Biker Snout (Tobacco Blend)
  • Chewie Cherry (Cherry, Blackcurrant & Menthol)
  • Corellian (Irish Cream, Praline Cream & Cookie)
  • Empire (Vanilla, Custard, Strawberry & Cream)
  • Imperial Mint (Fresh Mint & Menthol)
  • Old Ben (Cookie Cappuccino)
  • Phantom Menthol (Cherry, Perno, Aniseed & Menthol)
  • Sour Jawa (Sour Strawberry & Raspberry)

Vape Swag are starting to appear in some Vape Shops (im sure you'll be seeing it in more and more shops given time) and there is a website in the works, but to order some of these liquids head over to the Facebook page in the links where youll find a list of shops that carry the line, or you could send Mr Hepburn (the boss man) a message and he'll sort it all out for you. There is a liquid to suit most people and if like me you give it a vape and don't like it, don't write it off. Set it aside and give it a go another time. I'm so glad i didn't throw mine out because now, Empire is one of my favourite liquids. Give Vape Swag a try I'm sure you'll love it*.

Vape Crate

To start things off I'm sure it's fair to say, many of you will know exactly what Vape Crate is and what it offers. For those that haven't seen or heard anything about it, here's what you need to know. It's a monthly subscription service that was founded by "enthusiastic vapers" to supply all of us that choose to subscribe with high quality e liquid, without having to source a vendor to supply to the UK and deal with the importing of the liquids ourselves. So what do you get?
And how much will it cost you? You get a nice little box livened with a Vape Crate stamp, which when opened reveals three bottles of liquid nestled within a bed of shredded card. Which is tucked in with a postcard telling you about the liquids description and flavours. To have this little box of liquid delivered, all you need do is sign up and the first box is completely free. Yes you did read that right free liquid, what's even better is you will get a minimum of 45ml of premium liquid delivered to your door safe and sound for free for your first month. Every subsequent month will cost you £24.99 Which if my maths is correct is the equivalent of £5.50 or so for each 10ml. So from my personal experience it's really not mega money compared to some liquids I've seen. So why did I get one? Why not was my thoughts, why not give it a try the first one is free so even if I cancel after my second box it's only cost me £24.99 for a minimum of 90ml of liquid which equates to £2.77 for each 10ml.  I couldn't even buy cheap juice from most places for that.
As you can hopefully see from the picture which is the box I myself received just by signing up to the trial it's nicely presented. You may also have noticed that like many, many people who also signed up I got two liquids from Ruthless and one from Drakes. So for those who haven't tried these, for me I would recommend you give it a try I really would. The three liquids I got to be fair were pretty good, I loved the Drakes Drakeula and the Ruthless Ez Duz It. The Ruthless Swamp Thank was pretty good but was my least favourite of the three. My favourite of the three was without shadow of doubt the Ruthless Ez Duz It, for me I would buy this when my bottle runs out. Everyone who has been around me when I've vaped this loves the smell and from now on I think I'm going to start Vaping this at home only because once friends have had a whiff they have wanted to try it themselves and have stolen mine to vape. To be fair I don't mind or really blame them it's a stunning liquid that makes your mouth water. If nothing else I would recommend you try it, really it is that good. Anyway I'm going off on a tangent, so back to the point of this post. Is Vape Crate worthy of your money?? Well I asked myself the same question, we all require liquid so we can vape anyway. So you have two options, stick with your favourite liquid supplier and everything's good. The other option is go for it what's the worst that can happen? You might just find you open your crate and find a liquid that you would never have thought of trying or have never heard of that once you've tried it, you find you absolutely love it. If you don't love your Vape Crate you can cancel at any time.

As an added bonus once you have signed up you get the opportunity to use their refer a friend program which will earn you some money. You'll get £10 for everyone who follows your personal link and signs up. So after your free first box, get your friends to use your referral link and every three friends gets you another free box with some credit left over. What's not to like? Give it a go it may surprise you, you may find your all time favourite liquid in your next box.

Coming Soon from Spectrum Vaping

Guess what I have here........... go on guess, without looking down the page. No? ok I'll just tell you, I have two flavours from Spectrum Vaping that aren't available just yet. I'm sure your wondering how I got them??? Is it that I write great reviews and have vendors firing me emails all day, everyday asking me to review their products?? Unfortunately not just yet, however I do have a few vendors who like what I do and how I do it and I'm always happy to do more reviews (hint hint to any vendors out there). No, yet again I entered a comp on Facebook. Seriously people if you want free juice then join some Facebook groups, there are regular competitions held by different vendor's who sponsor a group for a period of time, there are also discounts for group members and you will have access to an absolute wealth of information from some very seasoned and experienced vapers so what are you waiting for....... on second thoughts if you don't mind waiting just a little longer i'd be grateful if you would finish reading this first. Right onto my thoughts on these two liquids I have here in front of me*

Pear Drops

Well what can I say? I used to quite like eating the sweets, although I haven't had them in a long time I certainly remember the taste. So the most important question that needs answering is, does it taste like Pear Drops?
Yes it most certainly does, it tastes like Pear Drops and smells like Pear Drops, it's really quite a refreshing vape that for me caused my mouth to water. I got a new dripper the other day, so this liquid has been dripped into my new Origen V2 with a one ohm single coil and Rayon build. This liquids flavours just pop, you get the same taste you get from eating Pear Drop sweets without the feeling you get from eating too many of them..... you know that feeling you get on your tongue after eating too many sugar coated boiled sweets that leaves your tongue feeling like it's been rubbed down with sand paper, well those days are gone if you switch the hard boiled sweet version to the e liquid version from Spectrum Vaping. I have really enjoyed vaping with this liquid, I have used this quite a lot and will continue to do so.

Sex On The Beach

I'm not a drinker of cocktails, well if I'm honest I'm not a huge drinker of anything alcoholic, so I don't really have a reference to base this flavour against. I can tell you that this is another liquid I have really enjoyed having a vape with. I looked up the ingredients to this cocktail and it has a fair few variants. So all I can tell you is,  i can only imagine it tastes like the drink minus the alcohol,
it's fruity and refreshing, i maybe wrong but i also get a coconut flavour in there aswell ( some variants of the recipe used for this cocktail use Malibu so it would fit) and I can honestly hand on heart tell you I could happily spend all day vaping this liquid with no issues whatsoever. I'd be more than happy for your opinions when this liquid goes on sale, please comment with your thoughts down at the bottom. What's even better with this liquid is it will not impair your ability to operate machinery or get behind the wheel of your car because the tastes of the cocktail are there just without the schnapps and the vodka. This is definitely a liquid that needs to be tried to be appreciated, so when it goes on sale I highly recommend you check out the site and add this to your basket. I really don't think you'll be disappointed, it's quite sweet but without being so sweet it becomes overpowering. If you like your liquids drink themed then this is definitely one your going to want to have in your supplies.

After my friendly Pat pushed these through the door I went back to the vendors website and I have to say, there are a decent amount of flavour options on the menu for your vaping enjoyment so I would wholeheartedly suggest you head over to Spectrum Vaping and have a look at what's on offer. They have nicotine strengths of 0,6,12,18 and 24mg with your choice of 50/50 or 70/30 ratio's. You'll be looking at £3.50 for a 10ml, £6.50 for a 20ml and £9.50 for a 30ml. For an added bonus there is also a current discount code listed on the site that will give you 20% off your total spend when you use SUMMER20 at the checkout, so that's going to mean you'll get 10ml for less than £3 which I'm sure you'll agree is fantastic value. This discount code is only valid till 23:59 on Sunday 7th September so stock up while you can, if you want a bigger bottle, a different ratio or a different nicotine strength it states on the site to add your requirements to the notes section of your order at checkout and they'll do their best to help you get your liquid just the way you like it. You can't ask for more than that can you...............
